How the directory is built & updated
Refreshed every 24 hours from public data
PLAZA’s listings come from public sources — not from businesses signing up. A scraper runs on a schedule and rebuilds the feed so it stays current. Here’s exactly what happens.
- 1
Pull from public sources
Every 24 hours we read OpenStreetMap and public-records data for the El Paso region.
- 2
Resolve & de-duplicate
Records that describe the same business are merged into one listing with a stable id.
- 3
Respect the suppression list
Anyone who requested removal is skipped — a removed listing is not re-added on the next run.
- 4
Preserve owner edits
Verified, owner-claimed listings keep the owner’s content; the scrape never overwrites what a verified owner set.
- 5
Publish
The feed and the matching agent read the refreshed data. A scrape in progress never takes the site down.
Why your business is here
If your business appears in public records, it appears in PLAZA — unclaimed and free. That’s how search works on day one. You can claim it to take control, or request removal if you’d rather not be listed.
Don’t want to be listed?
Use Request removal. We verify you control the business, then add it to the suppression list so the daily refresh won’t bring it back.
